Résumé
Cardiac catheterization nursing asks people to learn a great deal at once. A nurse may already be comfortable with assessment, medications, rhythms, emergencies, and bedside care, yet still feel new again when those skills are placed inside an invasive cardiovascular procedure. The Practical Cath Lab Nurse was written for that transition. It connects the science behind the procedure with what the nurse actually sees, prepares, monitors, questions, and communicates during a case. This companion describes that nursing approach across patient safety, hemodynamics, coronary intervention, pharmacology, sedation, mechanical support, structural and peripheral procedures, electrophysiology, emergency response, and professional development. The recurring teaching idea is simple: know enough to recognize what is happening, anticipate what may come next, work confidently within your role, and keep looking back to current evidence when recommendations or technology change. The book is meant to support orientation and clinical learning; it is not a substitute for professional guidelines, institutional policy, manufacturer instructions, or clinician judgment.
