Résumé
Pulmonary artery ECs from PAH patients display reduced oxidative phosphorylation and increased anabolic and pro-proliferative effects(‘Warburg phenomenon’). TEPP-46 (allosteric stabilizer of tetrameric PKM2) has beneficial effects in wild-type and BMPR2-mutation bearing BOECs, ameliorates the increased right ventricular systolic pressures and improves survival in Sugen-hypoxia-exposed rats. Antagonizing the Warburg effect may offer novel therapeutic options for PAH.
